Miriam was a tiny baby, safe and sound in Samek's knapsack. The line was forming, where were they going? "No children allowed," said the Nazis. No one would notice MIiriam, she was just a baby. Samek and the hidden Miriam were in the line. The Nazi guards were mean, no compassion for those in the line, pushing and shoving. Stay in line! Move with the line. Now! Move! Now! What was that? A child's cry? Bayonets found Miriam, the child's blood soaked though the knapsack, and a bullet found Samek's father's cry.
